First, you need to have a professional looking profile. Upload a headshot that conveys you are a professional. You need to decide that your Twitter account is for business and then devote every tweet to that cause.

Short and tweet.

Make your tweets short (within 140 characters). Get creative about how you word your tweets. Leave a little room for mystery so that people want to click on it to find out what you’re talking about. Better still, word your tweets in such a way as to inspire curiosity. The reader needs to feel compelled to click on the link to find out more.

Don’t overuse keywords.

Links can eat up a lot of your 140 characters, so try shorten it with a platform like bit.ly.

Images are great.

A picture’s worth 1000 words, as we all know. Use an image with your tweet. Be sure that it’s topic related. Images gather more views and attention than anything else.

Engage with your followers.

Throw questions out and then interact with your audience. Answer questions and in general be as helpful as you can be. When people start realizing you are there to help them and give out valuable free information, they will remember you when they are ready to buy or sell a home.
